Synopsis :
Mad Love is a wonderful collaboration between Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. The story acts as Harley Quinn's origin but it does much more than that. It manages to perfectly illustrate the dynamic between Batman, the Joker, and Harley Quinn. The animated look and more focused approuch give it a Pixar-like quality. Although it looks to be for kids, and I'm sure at the time it was released it was advertised to kids, there are some definate "adult" concepts at work. On the surface Mad Love is about Harley Quinn's attempt at killing Batman but deeper down it's about a one-sided relationship that's in an unbreakable cycle. This issue stand the test of time.
